This center promotes general education with all strength, in order to actualize an ideal goal- "the whole person education", and drive students to receive broader education. It fosters students with abundant knowledge, professional expertise and independent thinking. We except that students can enhance the breadth of various knowledge fields and sustain life-long learning, and apply knowledge to the career and personal life eventually.

OUK is the highest learning institute set up by Kaohsiung City Government and geared toward adult education. It has a mission to cultivate talents to promote the development of Kaohsiung city and sightseeing. Moreover, computer literacy is also indispensable to a knowledge worker at the working place nowadays. Especially, the students in this school must possess fundamental computer operation skills to participate in the teaching activities via TV, radio, broadcasting, or network. Therefore, the course of "Kaohsiung Development and Sightseeing Guide" (2 credits), and the course of "A Introduction of Information Science" (2 credits), are designed as two compulsory courses for all the students.
