Purpose of Establishment

The purpose of establishing this department is to cultivate professional managerial talents for the society and provide an open learning path in response to the current transition of industrial environment in Kaohsiung, inclined diversification of enterprises in the future, and development of internationalization and liberalization. With the changes of types of domestically economic activities and the trend of enterprise internationalization, production orientation has shifted into marketing and customer orientation. Digital economy grows rapidly and the value of managerial decision-making is variable. Thus, cross-functional integrated ability will gain great value day by day, and the humane managerial culture is also a key value of enterprise's sustainable management in the 21st century. Students of our school come from every class of the society and the environment of recognizing and respecting diversification is exceptionally gifted. Therefore, the curriculum planning of the department is to strive for comprehensive effects in enhancing these multi-values and expect to keep on creating and managerial advantages in this era of dynamic competition so as to promote the prospective employment and further education for our students.

Instruction Objective

The department designs three professional fields, "Marketing Logistics," "Managerial Decision-making," and "Digital Economy" as instruction cores and cultivates the most excellent managerial experts to meet the objectives. We expect to help students expand their macroscopic vision and creative managing ability under high competition of information era, cultivating managerial talents for enterprises and governmental organizations or units.

Development Features

Profession, innovation, practice, diversity, and humanity are five operating guidelines of our department. All-round material talents with a view of globalization and internationalization must be fostered in the cultural environment of the professional judgment, smooth interpersonal relationship, specific presentation of logical concept, innovative thinking, participation in diverse practice, and humane care. Therefore, our department, which holds the belief of "Professional Orientation" and "Diversity Cultivation," emphasizes commercial management theory and practical knowledge, and design curriculum in accordance with the current development trend of business management, cooperating with focusing strategy, designing required courses and emphasizing foreign language skills and humane cultivation on the three professional fields- "Marketing Logistics," "Managerial Decision-making," and "Digital Economy." Besides, our curriculum has courses of each field, such as "Marketing Project," "Business Logistics," "Financial Operation," "Human Resources," "Production Operation," Knowledge Management," "Digital Content," "Electronic Commerce," and "Planning Management," combines resources and features of every department of our school, adopts interflowing mechanism of study programs and expects our graduates to adequately put into practice what has learned by offering them plenty of learning opportunities .

Prospect Development

  1. Horizontal integration of study program: By implementing every study program, our department integrates relevant study programs of other departments of and expect to cultivate students' diverse attainments, such as foreign language ability, administrative affairs, culture, and art by diverse holistic education idea.
  2. Vertical extension of curriculum: Subdivide the planning of every professional study program and orientate a study program with great context and reciprocal succession of levels based on students' levels and requirements to enrich the content of our curriculum and create more outstanding learning environment.
  3. Digital Practice Platform: Plan digital economy platform system to provide opportunity of specific practice for students in addition to the theory and can further promote the cooperation between industry and the school to expand the width and depth of learning by means of the platform.
